Very Brief Blog: CMS Allocates Hospital Special Funding Based on Medicare Volume, not COVID Rates

Interesting item goes by on MedCityNews on April 16.   Discussion of "an  outcry" based on the fact that CMS allocated $30B of emergency cash funding based on prior Medicare revenue, not based on local COVID rates.

MedCity here.  With trackback to April 13, here.

They write,
  • "This means that hospitals in New York would get just $12,000 per reported COVID case, while hospitals in Nebraska or Montana will see $300,000 per case."
