Every year, there are several major meetings under the umbrella of the Advances in Genome Biology and Technology organization (AGBT). I've never attended one year but each conference generates a lot of interesting announcements and trade press.
Coming up soon, September 10/11, next Thursday/Friday, the Precision Health annual meeting will be held virtually. See the website here. (Registration was free to July 30 and $250 thereafter). Find the agenda here.
The conference has a strong academic presence, with speakers from MGH, NHGRI, NHS, Rockefeller, Oxford, Duke, and other top-ranked institutions.
I'm pleased to be on a panel for "Payor Perspectives on Reimbursement of Rapid Genomic Sequencing," which is 1:30-2:30 ET on Friday, September 11. The panel is moderated by Stephen Kingsmore of Rady Children's Institute for Genomic Medicine, and speakers include John Fox of Priority Health, Robert Plass of California Blue Shield, myself, and Jennifer Malin of United Health Group.
